How to install your favicon
Download the package, then follow the steps for your platform. It takes about two minutes.
- Click Download full package (.zip) above and unzip the file.
- In WordPress go to Appearance → Customize → Site Identity and click Select site icon. On a block theme, go to Settings → General and find Site Icon.
- Upload android-chrome-512x512.png (WordPress asks for a 512 x 512 image), crop if asked, then click Publish.
- Clear your cache plugin and refresh. Browsers remember old icons, so try a private window.
- Download and unzip the full package.
- Shopify: Online Store → Themes → Customize → Theme settings → Favicon. Wix: Settings → Favicon. Squarespace: Design → Browser Icon.
- Upload android-chrome-512x512.png, or the 32 x 32 PNG if the platform asks for a small icon, then save and publish.
- Upload every file from the package to the root folder of your website, so that yourdomain.com/favicon.ico opens.
- Paste this code inside the <head> of every page, then clear your cache.

What is a favicon?
A favicon is the small icon that appears in browser tabs, bookmarks, browser history and sometimes next to your site in Google search results. It helps people recognize your brand at a glance.
What size should a favicon be?
Browsers use 16x16 and 32x32 pixels for tabs, 48x48 for some desktop shortcuts, 180x180 for the iPhone home screen and 192x192 or 512x512 for Android and WordPress. Our package includes all of them, plus a real .ico file.
What is the difference between .ico and .png favicons?
An .ico file can hold several sizes in one file and is the classic format every browser understands. PNG files are sharper and support transparency. Modern sites use both, which is why we give you the full set.
How do I add a favicon to WordPress?
Go to Appearance, Customize, Site Identity, then Select site icon and upload the 512x512 PNG from your package. On block themes, use Settings, then General, then Site Icon.
Why is my new favicon not showing?
Browsers cache favicons for a long time. Clear your cache, check the site in a private window and make sure the files are uploaded to your site root. Google can take days or weeks to update the icon in search results.
